The NYSPHSAA, Inc. believes that the athletic participation of students enhances their academic performances. To support this belief, the Scholar/Athlete Team Award Program was begun in 1991. Varsity teams who earn a 90.0% or higher average during their sport season qualify for the NYSPHSAA award. The Pupil Benefits Plan, Inc. became the co-sponsor of the program in 1995. The use of alcohol, tobacco & other drugs by students is unhealthy, unnecessary & illegal. SUPPORT ACTION on TARGET, the NYSPHSAA and your local school to help students stay chemically free.
