"The Stick Game"

Annual Glens Falls
vs.
Queensbury Hockey Game

February 7, 2001

The Queensbury Spartans joined the Capital District High School Hockey League in 2000, sparking an instant cross-town rivalry with the Glens Falls Indians.  To forever commemorate this match-up, longtime Glens Falls Hockey Coach, Doc Miller, an avid "antiquer", has donated a Hockey Stick that will be awarded to the game's winner.

"The Stick", rumored to be 100 years old, circa. 1900, is made out of one continuous piece of wood with no splices, and has nails driven down the blade for reinforcement.  From this game forward the annual contest will be officially known as "THE STICK GAME".  The scores from each game will be engraved onto the shaft and the winner will maintain possession of the "The Stick" for that year.
In the event the game ends in a tie, there will be a "Shootout" to determine the winner of "The Stick".
